What to expect at Invati Yoga & Wellness
What to Expect at Your First Class at Invati Yoga
Welcome to Invati Yoga! We’re excited to have you join us for your first class. Here’s what to expect as you begin your yoga journey with us:
Arrive Early: We recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled class. This gives you ample time to check in, set up your mat, and settle into your space. Punctuality is essential for immersing yourself fully in the practice without feeling rushed.
Pre-Class Preparation: Before arriving, try not to eat or drink too much, as yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. Out of respect for fellow students and instructors, please come clean, minimizing the use of fragrances, and wearing fresh clothing and yoga towels. Comfortable, loose, or stretchy clothing is ideal for unrestricted movement.
What to Bring: Please bring your own yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. Don’t worry if you don't have a mat—we have mats available for rent at the front desk for just $2.
Communicate with Your Instructor: Let your instructor know about any specific concerns or injuries, whether old or new. They can provide modifications or adjustments to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the class. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek clarification—our instructors are here to help!
Listen to Your Body: Yoga is a personal practice; it's important to honor your body’s limitations. If a pose feels uncomfortable or painful, modify it or take a break. Remember, yoga is not a competition, and everyone’s practice looks different. Focus on your own journey and progress at your own pace.
Stay Hydrated: It's essential to stay hydrated before and after your yoga practice. Hydration works best if you hydrate before and after, rather than during class. Please leave your water bottle in the change room to minimize distractions.
Breathe and Relax: Yoga is not just about physical postures; it’s also about connecting with your breath and finding calm. Pay attention to your breath throughout the class and cultivate a sense of mindfulness and relaxation. Take deep breaths and let go of any tension or stress.
Embrace the Experience: Yoga is a journey of self-discovery and self-care. Embrace the opportunity to explore your body, mind, and spirit through the practice. Be open to new experiences, challenges, and growth. Remember, progress takes time and consistent practice, and we are here to support you on your journey.
If you have any questions or need assistance, our amazing, knowledgeable instructors are always available to help. We look forward to seeing you on the mat and sharing the transformative power of yoga with you!
