Lowering Anxiety through Self-Regulation
Because activation in the CNS is such a chronic issue in Canada, with anxiety being one of the indicators, I created this training that looks at the activation of the CNS. I titled it Lowering Anxiety through Self-Regulation because the general population does not understand activation, but understands the work anxiety…
After years of counselling, Lois began to notice a clear pattern: session after session she would have to stop and teach clients about the difference between somatic connection and cognitive learning. This happened with hundreds of clients. While the psychoeducation was essential, it often took up valuable therapeutic time.
Lowering Anxiety through Self-Regulation is a five-session course that brings together the core somatic tools and insights Lois has been sharing in therapy for years. It is designed to make this life-changing information accessible, clear, and practical.
The response has been remarkable. Many participants report that these classes have brought more understanding and relief than years of traditional counselling. When people truly grasp how their nervous system works, real and lasting change becomes possible.
This course is designed to:
Provide clear, supportive psychoeducation on anxiety and trauma
Teach somatic techniques to reduce anxiety and promote emotional well-being
Offer practical, body-based strategies to support long-term healing and self-regulation
