Healing Outside the System: Restorative Yoga, Deep Rest and Energy Reset Workshop
A 2-hour immersive restorative yoga and energy workshop for deep healing and renewal.
Inspired by author, yoga teacher and healing arts practitioner Alison Ruks' personal journey of successfully healing from Multiple Sclerosis— as shared in her book Healing Outside the System — this special extended workshop offers a deeply supportive and nurturing space for anyone navigating chronic illness, nervous system overwhelm, life transitions, or seeking a more holistic path to wellness.
In this 2-hour session, you’ll experience a gentle sequence of guided intention setting, restorative yoga and empowering affirmations, yoga nidra visualization, reiki energy healing, and Tibetan sound bowls and tuning forks for chakra balancing and energetic alignment.
Through calming poses, soothing sound, and gentle energy work, Alison creates a safe container to release stored tension, calm the nervous system, and awaken your body’s natural healing intelligence.
You’ll leave with practical tools you can use at home, a renewed sense of hope and peace, and your choice of a True North Wellness Co. product (such as a healing candle, aromatherapy spray, or herbal tea) to carry the nurturing energy with you.
Please bring: Your yoga mat, a blanket, and anything else that helps you feel comfortable and supported (pillow, cozy socks, etc.).
This workshop is more than yoga, it is a compassionate, holistic reset designed to help you feel seen, held, and empowered on your unique healing journey. No prior yoga experience is necessary. All bodies and experience levels are warmly welcome. Props and heartfelt support are provided.
Alison Ruks is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher (YTT), Reiki Master, Chartered Herbalist, and supporter of natural medicine. Deeply passionate about root cause healing, she is the author of Healing Outside the System, a book that shares how she successfully healed from an incurable disease, and empowers others to do the same.
In 2011, Alison was diagnosed with a severe form of Multiple Sclerosis and told she would be in a wheelchair within five years. Refusing to accept that limited future, she courageously carved her own path, stepping outside conventional medicine to heal at the root level through mind, body, and spirit integration. Her remarkable recovery became the foundation for her life’s work.
Today, Alison guides others who feel unseen or unsupported in their healing journeys. She believes unaddressed trauma and stagnant energy are often at the heart of physical illness, and that profound healing becomes possible when we address the whole self with compassion and empowerment.
